Scrape as much of it off as you can when it is cool. Then turn it on so it gets hot again and take an old rag and wipe off the remaining.(Just be careful that you don't burn yourself) If you still have residue on it when it cools use goo gone or something. When you are sure its clean I would use rubbing alcohol to get the goo gone off. You don't want it sticking in your hair! LOL (You may just end up buying a new one)!
