strong period medicine?

Question:
I have the worst period pain. The first 2 days are miserable. My question is what is the strongest medication? Tylenol and Midol are okay but they dont last long for me.

Answers:
I was prescribed prescription painkillers for my pain, but I didn't like the side effects so I settled on presciption Ibuprofen 800mg.

Other Answers:
ask your doc.

I take Aleve and it works wonders for me.

I use Brufen.

Extra-Strength Midol, Ibuprofen or prescription meds from the doc

talk to your doctor about giving you something tell him the over the counter meds aren't working

midol can help a lot if you chart and predict you next period. start taking midol two days before you're due. it helps a lot.

some doctors also prescribe birth control pills

Naproxin Sodium.

im not sure..i always take midol and roll with it.but try thermacare heat patches or the cramps.they work wonders when you cant lay at home with a heating pad

Ask a Dr.Extreme pain like that should be looked into.Good luck.By the way,I take ibuprofin when I have cramps, but they're fairly mild usually.

Your talk to your dr. maybe he can give you something that really works.Sometimes when i have my period pain nothing helps for me.

Then you should ask your doctor about it. Don't wory, my wife feals that way, and she asked her doctor and he proscribed a medicine (I should not say. confidential) and now everything has gone away. Relax, it hapens to all girls, your not the only one! :)

I've found that Ibuprofen is the only over-the-counter medicine that's ever worked for menstrual cramps. Take it as soon as possible and keep taking it for the first 2 days.
You could also try herbal remedies like Oil of Evening Primrose.
Exercise and lots of fluids help too - even though these are the last things you want to think about when you have cramps.
