What causes the rumble sound in your ears that you can volunatrily make but also happens when you yawn?

Question:
It is like a low rumbling sound, and I am just wondering what causes it.

Answers:
I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't know the cause. From talking to family members, I believe it's normal.

Jaw clicking, popping, and locking are symptoms of Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction, or TMJ.

Other Answers:
In my experience, I hear a clicking sound when I yawn or open my much too much because I have problem with my jaws. Sometimes, it locks. If you hear sort of a ringing sound, then it is tinnitus. But I am not really sure what it is you are hearing, but I don't think that it is normal to hear such sounds so you better ask an ear specialist so he/she could have your ears checked. Better safe than sorry.
