If you are a woman, you don not have enough testosterone in your body to make you bulky no matter what you do.unless you take steroids, but don't do that!
lifting weights will slim you down and tone you up.
If you are a man..i guess you shouldn't lift hundreds of pounds then if you don't want to turn into the hulk.

Generally, you need to put on weight to get big. You need lots of protein and it's better to lift large weights with low repetitions (around 10 repetitions for each set).

lifting weights can make you bulky and muscular, but you have to remember these two rules for lifting weights:

1)low weights and high repitions will tone the muscles you're working

2)high weights and low repitions will get you to bulk up and you will gain more muscle mass.

Also a quick reminder. don't work out the same muscles on consecutive days. For example, if you workout your biceps one day, the next time you workout, work on for example, your quadriceps. This will allow for your biceps to rest and allow them to grow. So, basically, all you have to do is alternate muscles every workout.

Once you get the muscles you want. you might want to consider tone those muscles after.

Jog, walk, bicycle

avoid weight lifting.
