How do you define Quality of Life?
Recently in a meeting while discussing job opportunities and whether a person should accept a job offer or not, someone commented "It all comes down to quality of life". What contributes to or defines "Quality of Life"?
Any one know about Hoodia as a diet aid?

I was always taught from the medical perspective that "quality of life" means to be productive. think about life what do we do to live? we eat, drink, walk, talk, work, sing, dance,etc. if there are things that we take part in, and at some point in time one of these things we enjoy and probably have taken for granted are ripped away from us then we don't have the same quality of life that we had before. Example if this person accepts the job for more money, but less time with children has he or she improved quality of life? well if the person would rather provide for his or her children financially and doesn't mind not seeing them as much then his/her quality of life is improved do to self esteem in being a provider. if this person accepts and it means spending time away from family and it causes problems and/or the person would rather be with family then working OT then the quality of life has decreased do to seperation of family. Therefore I quess the quality of life if given the opportunity is to do things that make us happy and if quality of life changes without our control try to make the best of the situation.

Here is my answer: Quality of life, for myself personally, means I prioritize what really is important to me in life (life, family, my hamster, my S.O.). It means I am living comfortably with myself---spiritually, psychologically, mentally and physically. That I am enjoying every day to the fullest as I can muster. :-)
And also that I am not throwing a crying fit every single day.. ;-) :-)
