Although each one is medically unique, the following factors have been linked to a dramatic decrease in cardiac disease:
1. DO NOT SMOKE. Never. Period.
2. Be physically fit. Start a walking or fitness program. Train at your own pace for 3-4 times a weak and increase gradually. Sports is great not only for the heart, but also lungs, stomach, digestion, etc. etc. etc. DO IT! :)
3. Relax. Do more of the things you love. Socialize. Play bridge. Hike those mountains. Paint. Anything that will keep you off your tensions.
4. Check with your doctor every once in a while and discuss all your problems. Never let symptoms unexplained. Your body tells you what his needs and problems are. Listen.
5. Eat right. No junk food. Eat less fatty meat and more of those red green and yellow vegetables and fruit. No limits on fish products.
6. Sleep right and don't overdoit with alcohool.
