what is the difference between relapse and reinfection?

relapse means you have the same disease with the same causative pathogens. and reinfection means you have the same disease but with the different cuasative pathogens.

I am not a doctor, could be the same thing. But I can guess.

Relapse = Having gotten rid of the cold but not the bug and it comes back and you waisted your time the first time.

Reinfection = Getting bug, getting rid of bug, getting bug again (Maybe even worse.) But then again I dont really know for 100% sure.

relapse, like when you stop doing drugs but you mess up again, you have a relapse, you just start doing it again. Um voluntary. Reinfection, involuntary, like you just got off the antibiotics for your kidney infection, it was gone but now its back.
