Contagious? Don't really know, but is VERY infectious, out of 1.8 billion persons at risk for malaria worldwide, 200 million people become infected each year. It is therefore one of the most infectious diseases in the world. You did know it is spread by infected mosquitoes, who carry blood of a victim they have "bit" with malaria, didn't you? It can also be spread by a blood transfusion to someone that has been given blood by someone that was infected with malaria, but this is very rare.
