Well, a well-rounded healthy diet can't hurt. She should avoid stimulants such as coffee or cigarettes and depressants such as alcohol. Of course, she should avoid illicit drugs altogether. A nice, cheap course in yoga or meditation down at the Y might help and she should take half an hour a day to just be quiet and focus on herself.

But frazzled, ADD and addictive are all signs of a chemical imbalance of the brain. And it's possible that a course of Paxil or Welbutrin or another seratonin reuptake inhibitor might really help. With some trial and error, side effects can be minimized.

People that have trouble with ADD and ADHD have had great success with Gluten-free (wheat) and Casien-free (milk) diets. There are support groups online and most grocery stores carry the type of food necessary to follow the diet. The diet isn't enough to aleviate the syndrome completly, for that you need to see an MD. If you're looking for alternative medicine, look in your phone book for an N.D. - Doctor of Naturopathy..they'll follow more altrenative means but still have the medical education backing them. The Addictive behaviors won't go away until she finds out for herself from herself why she has that particular trait..and for that wonderful journey I suggest meditation..maybe check out the book Chakra Healing, by Liz Simpson..if she's open minded it will work wonders. oh yeah and the centeredness from meditation will definitely help with the Frazzled mind.
