what we shold do to remedy babies diarrhea?
Question:
Answers:
my pediatrician told me the best thing to do is let the virus run its course. Last year he couldnt keep anything in his stomach. If it didnt come out one end it came out the other. He told me to not give him anything to eat ( he didnt want anything anyways) and to keep his liquid intake to a couple ounces every hour ( enough to keep him hydrated) After a day he was feeling much better. The dr. said that if i gave him an anti-diarrheal it would just keep the virus longer. Im not sure how old your baby is my son was 1 1/2. If the baby is younger it may be differnt. Hope it helps

how ols is the baby?
Bananas, toast, rice, and crackers. They also have special juice called pedialyte try that and over the counter medication. TLC tends to get children better faster.
Best wishes for a speedy recover for the baby.
This will depend a lot on the baby's age and how (s)he is acting. Are you breastfeeding the baby? If so, and the baby is new, you may not be prepared for how loose a breastfed newborn's stools should be. They will be loose for a while.
If the baby is able to keep liquid down, keep giving it as often as tolerated, but keep an eye on the baby's activity level. If your baby becomes listless and weakly crying, doesn't want to play or smile (if the baby has reached that age of development), it may be time to call the doctor and/or head to the ER for IV rehydration.
If the baby has a fever, try some age-appropriate Tylenol, but be very careful with the dosing. Some parents have unwittingly overdosed their baby on Tylenol, which is quite dangerous.
Listen to your instinct. If the baby seems to be very ill, do not hesitate to call the doctor or go to your local emergency room.

My own babies.
Talk to your doctor. Our lil boy had diarreah too often and had to be taken off whole milk and put on 2 % milk. They even have 1% milk and fat free milk. It would depend on many variables that the doctor could give you the best answer.
i had this problem alot with my little the best advice i got and one that worked was letting them have yogurt if they are old enough and only yogurt with live bacteria in it. believe it or not it cleared my little ones diarrhea up in no time.

if he's old enough, remember the BRAT diet, bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Sounds bland, but our pediatrician says will help, and easy to remember
