Well, I did a few years ago. Lost 55 pounds and felt great. The diet was based on calories - based on my age, sex, and weight I was allowed to eat 2500 calories in a day, as long as I exercised every day, which in my case was walking one mile per day. It worked out pretty good.
Then, one fateful day, my grandpa took me to a hole-in-the wall restaurant with the best darn french fries I had ever eaten. Six months later, the weight was back.
The creation of dopamine in the brain is the reason why we gain so much. Food creates dopamine in the brain, and for those of us who don't create enough, more food is the answer. Still, I believe that lifestyle has some influence - how much time we spend watching the boob tube, how many friends we have, ect.

wen i go on diet, i dont normally eat. it's actually starve diet. i survive only w/tea, coffee & biscuits.. & then i exercise @ nyt for 15 mins..
i used 2b 58kg [that was 2 yrs ago] & then suddenly my weight plunged down [dont remember y].
so i guess, its just a matter of eating healthy foods & exercise 2 make u fit not fat..

Why have I been having horrific dreams?
Quite awhile ago, when it was popular, I went on a diet called "The Beverly Hills Diet".It was limited to mostly fruits, (good carbs) lots of pineapple, and occasionaly some steak. It was a hard diet to follow.BUT.in 48 days, which was the length of how long you should be on it, I had lost 20 pounds. Unfortunatly, it came back, after quite awhile, because then I went back to the way I ate before..snacking, etc.I have both gained and lost many pounds since then,,,and it seems to me, that certain things will work.if you are committed to sticking with them. It may or may not matter what the name of the diet is.BUT..the things I try to be consistant about, are..
Drink lots of water.
Do some excercize every day.. walking is good too!
Don't eat large meals, Break them down into 5 smaller ones, and use portion control.
Make sure you eat Breakfast! It kick starts the metabolism! Have something healthy, like a protein, and a fruit.
Don't eat fried foods or fast foods. Not healthy and they contain the bad fats. Eat only good fats.
After a healthy dinner, some protein, some veggies and fruit, (good carbs) and maybe a salad, don't eat anything until morning. This is the time that the body needs to burn calories.
I found out, after going with all the "fads" like high protein, high carbs, no carbs.etc. that calories actually do count.and try to keep them within a certain range, and eat them earlier in the day, if possible.
Eating lots of fiber will help alot.
The weight will come off steadily, be patient, as you are actually changing your eating habits, which is the goal to keeping it off.NOT dieting. That doesn't work!
