my teeth are not so good and i want to do something about it. possibly in another country to save money.?

Question:
i have missing teeth in front on top. currently i wear a partial. i want to get a new set of teeth like a movie star. if i do the top, i will need to do the bottom to match. i want them straight and white. i am considering full dentures or posts and crowns. as i am interested in saving as much as possible i am considering going to another country to have the work done. any ideas or expierences out there?

Answers:
I agree, Mexico is a great place. I get my dental work done there as well. It's much cheaper and you can get fantastic dentists. It is of course, a matter of chosing the right one. If you do opt for Mexico, do a bit of research, maybe get some references and find someone who seems to have a decent, busy practice.

Other Answers:
Mexico is cheaper and similar quality. It's been my experience that they're more butchering in their methodology to fix things, but that shouldnt be a problem in your case.

Many people from the US travel and live in Mexico during the winter. I have had people tell me that get dental work during their winter travels.

Like anywhere references and individual consultions are important.

Best to you.

Either way it sounds like you have a lot work to do, so it won't be cheap. If you go too far, that won't help much. I'd stick to the Canada region. They have top notch medical people in every field, AND it will be a lot cheaper going up there.

I personally got dental work in Mexico. I was very satisfied! I got my orthodontal work done in Mexico. I would have paid $4000 for my braces with my insurance if I got my work done in the U.S. Thats even with my insurance paying $1000. You know what really surprised me, most orthodontists and dentists in Mexico, accept American Insurance. Thats how I paid nothing for my braces. My dental insurance would send me checks and I would sign them over to my orthodontist. I would go every month to Mexico for my visits. I only live an hour and a half away! I will for now on get my dental work done over there. I've even sent him many clients. Another thing, I noticed that all his clients were from the U.S. If I were you I would totally do it in Mexico. I saved $4000. I paid not one cent for my braces. All I paid for my dental insurance was 50 cents a week. I am so happy with my Teeth!

Fly to Iran,.. you'll get best treatment with almost 1/20 price in U.S

Go to a dental school near you. THey have much better trained staff.

Like others have mentioned, I have heard of people going to Mexico and/or Canada. But unfortunately, it would probably end up costing as much as just getting your teeth fixed here. I too am in need of extensive Dental work, and am in the process of researching ways of getting a Grant. I will let you know when I find out more.

OK, let me get this straight. You are willing to pay to travel to another country to save money on dental work? If you really have bad teeth it will take more than one visit to the dentist (a good dentist anyway), so you'd be paying a helluva lot to travel to save on oral care. NOT SMART!

If you live in California - I've had a good experience with a company called "California Dental" - it is an insurance - you pay 100 dollars for a year and it will cost you only half the price of what you need to have done.

Brazil has a lot of good dentists - i went there to have work done but i also visited friends there. Another good and cheap way is to go to a dental school. that was the cheapest way to get things done but it also takes a longer time - i do recommend it. I did it and had great results - it is supervised by the teacher.
