What's the best book on nutrition?
Question:
Answers:
I don't think there's really any one "best" book on the subject. Here's one I've found very informative:
Natural Hormone Enhancement by Rob Faigin
http://www.extique.com/
A large section is devoted to nutrition and explaining not only what types of foods are good for you but, more importantly, why. The rest of the book is devoted to exercise and lifestyle. Much of it is written from the perspective of a body builder, but it is excellent advice for anyone simply trying to make their body healthier.
If you are interesting in learning a LOT about nutrition and exercise (mind you, this book is very technical and not a quick read), I highly recommend it.
For recipes, I recommend the following:
Stella's Kitchen: Creative Cooking for Fun, Flavor and a Lean, Strong Body by Dave Draper and Stella Juarez
http://www.stellaskitchen.com/
They offer some excellent, delicious recipes high in micronutrients for a strong and healthy body. The recipes focus on eliminating processed carbohydrates, focusing instead on nutrient dense whole foods. She also offers some great kitchen tips and advice for healthy snacks.
