How can I get my glucophage prescription refilled without a doctor's visit? I can afford one or the other.

Answers:
Your medication, if for diabetes, should have been written with refills on it- check to see if you have any refills- if not, call your dr's office and see if they will give you a refill without a new visit.

Check with you local government agencies as well, for medical assistance, you may qualify for some help with medical care. And check here as well:)

Metformin (glucophage) is by prescription only.and going online or buying out of country medicines isn't safe legally/physically.I suggest you have the pharmacist call your doctor and see if he/she will give permission for another prescription over the phone instead of you having to go visit the doctor, hope this helps!

If you go to your pharmacy, they will be glad to fax or call your doctor for the refills. If you are completely out (which you shouldn't be, you should always go a few days in advance to make sure you get your refills) the pharmacist can usually give you a few days supply to hold you over until the doc returns the fax/call. This process is usually sped up a little bit if you call the doctor's office too and let them know you are waiting on your refill. Sometimes they even give another 6 or 7 months refills.
