How do I resist the temptation of a cigarette when everyone I live with smokes?


Question:
I am trying to stop smoking. The longest I've gone without a cigarette is 10 hours. :( And what makes it worse is that the people I live with smoke. Help!

Think about the cute guy your going to meet some day who doesn't smoke and if you do, may not give you a second glance because you smell bad, have yellowed teeth, will get early lines around your mouth and most important will die early of emphysema, lung cancer or a heart attack all of which are more likely for a smoker. Good luck. It's hard but so worth it. Save all that money and treat yourself to something you love.

Smokers tend to hang out with only smokers. Sometimes you have to make a break from them or tell them if they don't quit you're leaving.

Praying always works =) Even if you aren't religious, give it a try. Even if youthink it's bogus, then it can't hurt you so just ask the Lord to help you quit and reisit temptation.

Use a nicotine inhaler, prescribed by your doctor. It will supply you with nicotine and not carcinogens as cigarettes do and also satisfies the oral/tactile fixation smokers have. Also, encourage your friends (or whomever) to STOP! Smoking not only causes lung cancer, it causes cancer of the bladder and esophagus. It can also cause osteoporosis which is bone loss and increase your risk of fractures after a fall.

i say gurl u need to move out into your own house or buy onr of those paches to help u and your friends to stop smoking!SMOKING IS NOT GOOD FOR U![smoking also turns your teeth yellow].

Technically you're already addicted to the nicotine since you have been exposed to it so much.second hand smoke is just as bad as first hand. There are many supplments out there now days that can aid you in quitting and many alternative treatments like couseling and hypnotism. I would research online to see what is the best method for you.
