depo-provera?

Question:
,ARE ANY OF YOU ON DEPO- PROVERA INJECTIONS FOR CONCATACEPTION IF SO HAVE YOU HAD A PERIOD , I HAD MY INJECTION 2 MONTHS AGO AND I HAVENT HAD A PERIOD YET

Answers:
Your periods will stop, I was on depo for 7 years and didnt have a single one, cool eh!! You will find tho that when you come off the depo your periods will take a while to come back and may be heavier for a while. So if you plan for a baby, give yourself at least an extra 6 months for your cycle to get back to normal.

Other Answers:
You don't get a period on the shot.

I was before and it is normal not to have a period you might not get a period at all while you are on it. You might begin spotting once it gets closer to the time when you need to get the next shot but it will go away once you get the shot again. Don't worry you will have irregular or no bleeding at all while on this injections. I did not like them but for other reasons.

Experience

When I was on the shot I had a period for like a month straight.

Irregular, heavy, or no bleeding are common side effects of Depo Provera.

When I first started on Depo five years ago, I bled for two months nonstop. Since then, I haven't had any bleeding other than spotting when it's almost time for the next injection. My doctor told me that 1/3 of women bleed almost constantly for the first six months to a year, 1/3 of women don't bleed at all, and 1/3 of women bleed sporadically. So what you're experiencing is completely normal. What I wonder, though, is why didn't somebody at your doctor's office inform you of these things before giving you your first injection? Patients are to be counseled and informed of all potential benefits, risks and side effects of any treatment. If this didn't happen in your case, you should complain to the doctor or switch doctors.

I work in a doctor's office.

i had my first baby in 1996 and when she was 6 weeks old, i got the shot, only one time, and didn`t have a period for 12 months, later on in life i found out that i have a clotting disorder, in wich i form my own blood cots and throw my own blood clots, and had a blood clot that that went to both lungs. and lived to tell about it! well my point is, that birth control has hormones that sometimes causes blood clots, strokes, and probally other things that we don`t know about. so be careful! no i have a little something called an IUD. it is a little thing mostly wire and copper, it is in the shape of an T and it fits snug up in the cervix. you don`t have to worry about putting it in, taking it out, remembering to take it,and so on. it is always there and it lasts for as long as 10 years! just do your reasearch and lots of it on birth control! be careful, be safe! and good luck.
