Its a form of chicken pox

Yes, as soon as it comes out as blisters and they break, keep away from everyone. Wash your hands in warm soapy water if you contact them, and don;t burst them yourself. It is a very painful condition, like raw nerves hanging out, so you'll feel very unwell for a while and tired. There is a medicine that you can get, but the doctors will only give it to you within the first 3 days of you getting it.

Shingles itself is not contagious, but it is caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox. If you are around someone who has never had chicken pox, they can become infected and get chicken pox.
