Premenstral syndrome (PMS) is a psychoneuroendrocrine disorder with symptoms that occur usually from day 18-21 of a woman's cycle and interferes with her life. This is followed by a symptom free period.

Symptoms may include:
Sudden onset of being sad, tearful, irritable, or angry (mood swings).
Persistent and marked anger or irritability.
Marked anxiety or tension.
Markedly depressed mood, feelings of hopelessness.
Decreased interest in usual activities
Easy fatigability or marked lack of energy
Sense of difficulty in concentrating
Hypersomnia or insomnia
Physical symptoms such as breast tenderness, headaches, edema, abdominal bloating, joint or muscle pain, weight gain.

it stands for pre-menstrual syndrom. you can usually tell when someone has it when their really crabby. its when a girl has her period.
