the hospital won't help me unless i'm in dying need and i don't have the money?

Question:

Answers:
I had this problem not long ago..I had to go thru the ER and have emergency surgery, Is that what you are needing, surgery? Unless it is posted hospital's are not allowed to turn anyone away due to no insurance etc. If it is a "for profit" hospital they can turn you away. unfair yes it is but if they are a "not for profit" hospital, meaning they rely on charities etc they are not allowed by law to turn you or anyone away. Ask to speak to the administrator or someone in finacial aid.

awwwww. that's sad. :( well write a sign that you really need to go to the hospital but you don't have the money and stay standing in the crosswalks and see if anyone gives you any donation.

The hospital has to take you. It is illegal if they don't. I work at one. I should know. That goes for all 50 states so unless your in another country you are good to go.

In the case of a medical proceedure ordered by a doctor in a standard visit a hospital can refuse you. If it is an emergency such as life threatening or you report to the ER and a doctor orders surgery (happened last week for my hunny) they can NOT refuse that.

Contact local state assitance areas, they might know what your options are better and if there is a way you can get assistance from local donation charities. (Most places have a print out of all the local charities.)

Yeah they should take you. I also work at a hospital. If you don't have insurance then they will just bill you instead of the insurance. If you have a county hospital you can go there and get treated for free. The government will pay for it. I work at a county hospital and we get A LOT of patients with no insurance, and the county will pay for it. Are you sure they won't see you AT ALL or is there just a huge waiting list? Hospitals triage people. The sickest/dying people go first. If you just have a cold or something, you are going to be one of the last ones seen, waiting hours! I had to wait once for 8 hours to be seen. Hope that helped! Good luck!
