I am an insulin dependent diabetic, How can I sign up for a pancreas transplant?
Question:
Answers:
You can't right now, but in the future they may be able to transplant just the cells from the pancreas that you need. Watch the research and stuff.

You'll need to be recommended by your physician. Note that a transplant is a very expensive process, and because your condition allows you to continue living (even though you're dependent on insulin) your priority on the list will be much lower than those who actually need a new pancreas to continue living.
Actually you are not eligible for a transplant if the only problem you have is that you are diabetic. I recommend MiniMed Medtronic insulin pumps. They have a web site, and their phone number is: 800-646-4633
Anyone can get one. Minimed can even refer you to a physician in your area that prescribes pump therapy. I've had my pump for 6 years now and I LOVE it! By the way, I did shots for 10 years before that.
you can't have a pancreas transplant they don't do them unless you need a kidney transplant aswell
