I know this sounds weird but I stare at a single fan blade while it is moving. Works every time.

Place a paper towel over a glass of water and drink from the far side of the glass.

I know for me what works best is relaxing and slowing my breathing down till it is very shallow, and the hiccups completely stop, and go away.
It usually only takes a few minutes for me to stop them.
drink water. if it doesnt work breathe in slowly and hold it for about 10 secs and breathe out as slowly as you can. Concentrate on your breathing while doing this. You might get hiccups in between but do not stop the process.
If you constantly get hiccups see if you have gastric problem. Try eating fresh ginger with sugar 1 hr before lunch twice a week for a month. And do not drink water atleast 1 1/2 hrs before you eat anything.

Your diaphragm almost always works perfectly. When you inhale, it pulls down to help pull air into the lungs. When you exhale, it pushes up to help push air out of the lungs. But sometimes the diaphragm becomes irritated. When this happens, it pulls down in a jerky way, which makes you suck air into your throat suddenly. When the air rushing in hits your voice box, you're left with a big hiccup.
Almost all cases of the hiccups last only a few minutes.
The best way to get rid of hiccups is actually to breath normally..if that doesn't work then try holding ur breath and drinking a glass of water.
If you have the hicups takes a glass of water put your thumbs in your ears your two index fingers pushing your nose together and with the rest of the fingers pick up the glass. Holding all routes for the hicups closed drink the water till you need a breath of air then afterwards you will burp and they will be gone.

Try these:
-a tsp of sugar melted on the tongue
-salt and lemon like you would w/a shot of tequila
-a shot of bitters (drink it all down at once)
-have someone massage your temples while you drink a glass of water w/o stopping.
-drink a glass of water with a butter knife in the glass.
-drink a glass of water "upside down", meaning bend far over and drink out of the opposite side of the glass. (do not try this with ice cubes in the glass! messy)
-swallow 3 times while holding your breath. If you hiccup while doing it, start over.
***when you do these things, do not gulp the water. Drinking too fast causes hiccups!

The best way is to take a quick drink of water then hold ur breath and stare at a light, staring at the light while u hold ur breath distracts u so ur hiccups tend to stop.
