Where is a good web resource to find more about information of fabrics for the fashion industry?

Question:

I'm looking for places where I can read about fabrics so that I am more familiar with them and how to tell them apart. I just need some guidance - maybe a fabric encylopedia or dictionary type of reference.

Any tips are welcome as answers, too.

any online encyclopedia, such as wikipedia, can give you the basic 411 on almost every fabric. now. my advice would be to go to fabric stores and check out the different fabrics so you can actually feel the textures and find out for yourself how to tell them apart. thats how i learned almost everything about fabrics.
