Why are my fingertips peeling?

Question:
About 3 months ago I noticed that my fingertips started to get dry skin and peel. I thought it had something to do with the cleaning solution that I had used to clean house, or maybe that I needed to drink more water or use more lotion. It went away and I didn't think anything more about it. Well, a couple of days ago they started again. I'm under a lot of stress, could this cause it? Or is it something else?? Please help!

Answers:
The reason more medical than you might think
it is caused by increased levels of uric acid
it is not a seriou condition but it can turn painfull ,,,you should avoid eatin legumes such as soy . beans etc.and talk to your doctor.thats the best i can tell you

Other Answers:
If the stress has caused you to stop using the lotion and stop drinking water as much, then yes, it would indirectly be the cause. Also, I've noticed that that sort of peeling increases depending on what I'm doing--like if I'm doing a lot of filing at work, for example.
