i have always wonder the same thing.
The myth says that if you swallow gum it will take 4 years to digest, however scientific tests have proven that it does not. In fact it will digest just as quick as all other foods.

It can take awhile for gum to break down as opposed to other foods. The truth of the matter is, it will be pushed through your system, and excreted from your body long before the issue of whether or not it is broken down.
