Have you ever heard of bleeding eyeballs?

Question:
My grandaughter was sent home from school today with very
red large blotches in the whites of her eyes. She has had
some very bad headaches lately. The blood is not dripping , but it is more than just little red lines.

Answers:
Causes of Subconjunctival Hemorrhage (Bleeding in Eye):
Sneezing
Coughing
Straining/vomiting
Eye rubbing
Trauma (injury)
High blood pressure
Bleeding disorder
Severe eye infection (conjunctivitis)

Consult an opthalmologist and treat her accordingly.
Go to your ophthalmologist immediately if these conditions develop:
1.Extreme pain
2.Changes in vision (eg, blurry vision, double vision, difficulty seeing)
3.History of bleeding disorder
4.History of high blood pressure
5.Injury from trauma to the eye

Also, call your ophthalmologist if you have hemorrhage in both eyes at the same time or if the subconjunctival hemorrhage coincides with easy bruising, bleeding gums, or both.

Other Answers:
Blotches in the white of the eye is usually indicative of stress in the eye. (aka bloodshot eyes) If there has been vomiting with the headaches (I know I get it with migraines) it may be the explination for the bloodshot eyes.

I would strongly suggest that you take her to see a doctor.

Maybe she is has allergies, take her to physician, and they can tell whats wrong with her eyes.

If this is a brand-new thing, Grandma, take the child to the emergency room NOW! She could have a very serious problem and it needs to be evaluated by a physician at once. I'm a retired emergency room supervisor and I've seen it before. Delay could cost her eyesight or worse!

it seem that she have stress. it's very common that she was stress and the blood pressure break inside the eyesball. she need to be calm and have check by doctor to make sure.

experince.

Go to the eye doc today.

Your best bet is to take her to the eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist). If you take her to the ER and they don't have an eye doc on staff, you'll be referred to one anyway.
