causes of a fever of 102.3?
Question:
Answers:
First of all if you have a fever of 102.3 take some tylenol. It can be caused by an infection. Like a flu or cold or anything like that. In a child it can be from teething. It is your body's way of "cooking" out the bad stuff. It defends you from the infection. However, if it gets too high then you can have serious problems. It can essentially cook your brain if it gets too high. Drink lots of fluids to keep hydrated and if it is a child that has a fever I would suggest pedialyte and maybe a trip to the Pediatrician if it gets any higher than that. A quick way to lower a high temp is to take a lukewarm bath. Any cooler than that can cause a person to go into shock.

It could be alot of things. Go to the doctor. How long have you had the fever? Does it go down when you take Tylenol or Ibuprofen?
Lots of different things, basically fever indicates infection. The flu causes high fevers, but you could a respiratory infection or some other type. If you aren't sick with the flu, you may need to see your doctor, there could be something seriously wrong. Especially with abdominal pains, you could need your appendix out!
an infection or really bad weather
Is it an adult or child? Children are more prone to developing fevers over minor causes.
Still, 102 is getting serious. A disease, like the flu, could cause it, or an infected wound, or? Better see a doctor.
It is similar to allergic reactions. If you intake certain chemicals or bacteria that you are not used to, you will get sick. I guarentee it. email me at joebootshero@yahoo.com if you want to talk.
