is walking a lap and running a lap better than running every lap?

Question:

Answers:
There are different types of pysical training or exercise. Walking and then Running is called interval training, which is supposed to get your heart rate to an ideal-fat-burning zone and is very effective for quick workouts. You should do this type of training, however in 5 minute intervals. 5 walking, 5 running. Walking a lap may take too much time and lower your heart rate too low.
Running every lap is also good exercise. This kind of cardio-vascular training is great for your heart, building endurance, etc. Running is typically a better exercise for those who want to actually- fast jog- for longer workouts.. Doing this you should jog for 40 minutes or longer.

give all your points to me if you are just going to crap on them

it depends what you're trying to accomplish. if you're trying to do good cardio then running the whole time is best. i'm told though that a lower heart rate is better for fat burning, in which case walking and running might be better for that. personally, i would just run the whole time since running will get you skinny anyway, because seriously, how many fat runners do you see?

No. Running burns more calories and builds more muscle. However, if someone can't run multiple laps, mixing in a walking lap is a good idea. It's better to maintain good form and work out on a consistent basis then to overdo it.

the benefits of walking are nearly as good from a health standpoint as running, better if you count the trauma running has on your feet and ankles, walk/run/walk/run, keep it up :)

it doesn't matter if you walk or run a lap they are both really good.. running just makes your calf muscles stronger but walking is easier
