Does anyone know about the hair dye and tattoo allergic reaction warning?

Question:
I dyed my hair black yesterday, and started reading the warnings on the box. One in particular said "If you have a tattoo, the risks of allergic reaction may be increased." Can anyone give me the specifics? What does having a tattoo have to do with an allergic reaction to hair dye? (I have quite a few of them and suffered no reaction, however I am very curious.)

Answers:
Hi
I am a tattoo artist and I have never heard of any case where dieing your hair has interfeared with a tattoo. Now If the tattoo is on your head and its still healing then I can understand you would have a few problems. But as long as the die dosent get on a healing tattoo your fine.

chest pain shortness of breath or even passing out ?

maybe it is because sometimes your body has to be exposed to some foriegn substance like dye found in some hair dyes or tattoo inks twice before you have an allergic reaction, the first your body maynot react but percieves the foriegn substance as bad and your t cells remember this so the next time the foriegn substance shows up your t cells mobilize and attack which is your allergic reaction if you already have multiple tattos and you dyed your hair and nothing happened then nothing is going to happen and you shouldn't worry
