Depression coming on..?

Question:
For the first time in my life I am not in control of the things that are happening around me and I can feel depression coming on. Most of it are bad and very stressful. I am usually a very out going person and happy most of the time, but now I don't want to see anyone or talk to anyone. I think this is a sign of depression, but not sure. Maybe I'm just in the dumps. I've never had it before. How can I be sure it's not depression and if it is how do I stop it?

Answers:
i've battled bouts of depression for years.this weekend i figured out that i probably should live in a warm climate in the winter, because from the holidays until the weather starts getting warm i just hate everything. it took years to figure this out. but sit down and try and feel why you are so down. if it's not because of what is going on in your life, it could be something chemically going on in your brain. and there are meds to help that. just tell your doctor . i know my doc gave me a couple of books to read about life, etc. and a prescription. i analyzed myself and i think i know what the problem is now. next step is what can i do about it.? as much as i'd like to i can't go to florida every winter. but i can make it a goal for myself. please talk to your doctor. especially if something is going on in your life. doctors don't judge you. they are there to help you.

Other Answers:
sounds to me like it's just stress, as long as you haven't had any thoughts of suicide i think you're alright. still you might want to go see your doctor instead. it also might just be an anxiety disorder. again i'd go to a doctor just to see. and be safe
