Citalopram For Depression?

Question:
Does it work - Iam very wary of taking this. ALL answers appreciated!

Answers:
i works really well, i know loads of people who kept trying all the herbal rememdies such as st johns wort and wouldnt do anything for them, and it also reacted with other meds they where on! Citalopram is the one that worked wonders for my partner, but all the anti-depressants in the drug group SSRI's work well, its just finding one that doesn't give you bad side effects.

Good luck what ever you choose

Other Answers:
i would say so, i was on something like that cipapram or something it might be the same thing and it worked for me..

it works, but it takes at least 4 to 6 weeks, so remember you shouldn't expect a miracle, it will happen little by little.
I have seen the results on two of my friends, they are much better now.

I am an alternative medical therapist and all anti depressants are very bad for you. Most of them have bad side effects and are addictive.
Trade name = Cipramil. Dosage 20mg to 60mg per day.
Regular blood tests to check blood cells and kidney function is essential. Regular hearing tests, adequate fluid intake, Use with caution if you have kidney disease.
Now that should tell you something about the drug, my advice is do not take it. My daughter was on Prozac (another anti depressant) and I put her on to St Johns Wort she is much better for it.

All depressants act on the central nervous system and should be avoided if there is an alternative and there is:
The herbal equivalent is: St Johns Wort, there are many more each one is designed for specific causes of the depression. Contact me for further information at e-mail alternative@medicine123.wanado.

yes it does, it's a generic form of celexa. i have been on both citalopram and celexa for an anxiety disorder and it worked great for that. and i know people who have taken it for depression and it worked great for them. but not every antidepression drug works for everyone, so if it doesn't help after a month then check with your doctor again.
