pain assocaited with pregnancy?

Question:
My wife is pregnant, close to 5 months now. She is complaining about a pain in her lower abdomen. Since this is her second pregnancy, she said this kind of pain was expected when she is close to 9 month, any one can help please?

Answers:
Have you consulted with her doctor? Has she had an ultrasound done? What do the tests say? Is everything normal? Is she carrying high or low? How bad is the pain? Does it come and go or does it stay continously? My advice? Take her to the doctor and tell him what's going on.

Other Answers:
Actually it is more likely that she is just having pain from her uterus stretching, which is VERY normal. However, she could be having braxton hicks contractions. I strongly suggest she see her doctor about it.

go to the dr. you can't be too carefull

Any bleeding? If yes, she is in trouble!

I'm not no doctor but i'd go to the doc and get checked out. there could be something very wrong

Any time there is pain during a pregnancy call a doctor immediately. Don't worry about like looking like you are to worried there is a baby's life on the line. They may perform a stress test or something. Don't chance your baby's life because you think it may be normal.

During my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies, I was diagnosed with something called braxton-hicks contractions. I'm not sure what they are (or if I spelled it right), but it was quite uncomfortable at times. There was absolutely no danger, just a litle extra discomfort during my pregnancies. I guess they could vary in degree of discomfort. Definitely call your doctor.

Probably just stretching. Is it possible that she is constipated? Check with the doctor to make sure.

Your muscles in your lower abdomen are stretching and moving to accomodate baby. If it's just minor aching I wouldn't worry.
