well sure. like if you hear about someone getting hurt, like a broken leg or something, sometimes your leg might start to hurt or feel funny. ya know, sympathy pain? but here are also some actual disorders:
pain disorder: the person feels actual pain without any real medical cause. i think that fibromylagia (sp?) was invented for this. lol.
somatization: pain symptoms without medical cause are in this too, but it is also paired with other symptoms like; suto-neurological, gastrointestinal, and sexual problems. there is also a focus on a specific disease that the patient is convinced they have, but seem not to be overly worried about; not typical. get it?

Hi! The pain, if thought imagined, probably exists on another dimension i.e. the spiritual. Since all pain/discomfort and dis-ease occur on the spiritual plane first before it reaches the physical, I would think that someone was tuned in to their spirit and knew that there was an imbalance.
