my husband is 53 yearlold having itchy arms and legs. what kind of disease is this? thank you.?

Question:

Answers:
probably just dry skin.people forget to moisturize as they get older.get a really good, moisturizing lotion and that should help the itch.if it doesnt go see a dermatologist, he could have exima or something like that.

Other Answers:
Well if he has other symtoms like: Dry skin,Can't get enough to drink, skin itches, eye sight is getting worse, penis is dry when going to the bathroom, and feet hurt.I would have him checked for Diabitis.

possibly eczema or a side effect of medication he's taking? ask your doctor or ask your pharmacist for an OTC remedy.

Need more info to help you. Is there a rash or any other symptoms? Could be a circulation problem. Is there any discoloration of the arms or legs? If it is strictly dry skin purchase some OTC hydrocortisone cream(Cortaid) and apply to the area twice a day. If no improvement in a week to 10 days, see a doctor.

Good Luck:)

He might have a vitamin deficiency. Try taking more vitamin E and B vitamins. A good cream like shea butter might help too if it is just dry skin causing the itch.

He should mention this to a doctor because it might be a symptom for something else.

I had the same problem..Tell the drs. to do a punch biopsy on one of the itch spots..I have what you call allergic vasculitis..I was put on some meds called doxepin and it took the itch away..
