are there any sexual side effects with taking lexapro?

Question:

Answers:
My husband was taking lexapro, and I can definitely tell you he suffered major sexual side effects. Your doctor can tell you more about the side effects, but usually if you are having problems your doctor can switch meds, until you find something that works for you.

Other Answers:
Sexual side effects are common to many antidepressants. Specifically, loss of libido, dryness, and difficulty achieving orgasm are pretty common. It's up to you if these side effects are bothersome enough to consider changing your medication. I would also mention it to your doctor and he/she may be able to make some suggestions.

Lexapro is basically a variation on Celexa. The idea behind Lexapro is that it's a more potent Celexa and subsequently requires a lower dosage. The logic is that a lower dosage results in lessened side-effects.
