How long do people say it should take to lose 30kg that has been gained on over 3-4yrs?

Question:

Answers:
I've heard that 2 lbs./week (about 1 kg a week) is as far as you can go without endangering your body. It ultimately depends on how much weight you have to lose, and your body composition of muscle vs. fat.

Expect to lose weight dramatically as you start, but you may see slight fluctuations between 2-4 lbs. (1-2 kg) if you begin to build more muscle mass through strength training. Don't be discouraged by lifting weights, though, since muscle burns a lot of calories.

If you consistently lost 2 kg per week, expect to reach your weight loss goal in 8-10 months; again, the time it takes really depends on your body type, muscle mass, level of activity, and of course, commitment. Good luck!

Other Answers:
depends on your total body weight. I would use a few pounds a month, not more, so you make sure it /stays off/.

A lot of it is really going to depend on yourself. Meaning that if your body is really good at things like burning calories and taking on a work out really well, then I would say not too long at all. But, if you have a tendancy to put weight on and it just doesn't want to come off then I would say you have a bit of work cut out for you. The best thing to do if you are going to start a new work out program is to do some looking around and see what is out there at you really like. 3-4 years- that's how long it took to put it there, that's how long it'll take to take it off.

with normal dieting (nothing extreme) it would take around 20-25 weeks.
