how can I turn down my CPAP?

Question:

Answers:
Usually your CPAP is programmed by the provider of the medical equipment according to the settings recommended by your doctor. Although you personally can go under settings its best to have the RT from the medical supplier to decrease the settings {by Dr's orders} or else it could violate your insurance contract with them and void any warranties

Other Answers:
your cpap machine can only be turned down by a specialist or the company where you got it and the doctor must order such a change in order for this to happen.
if you are experiencing a high level of anticipation while wearing it try some deep breathing excersises before you put it on !
hope this helps good luck

First of all, how do you know you need to turn it down? Have you had a recent sleep study to verify the pressure change would be effective in keeping your airway open? I would take it back to the place where I bought/rent it and have them make the change if they won't tell you over the phone how to do it. Just make sure you are doing the right thing to reduce the pressure, otherwise why use it? Also, if you are renting, perhaps you can get one that has a "ramp" button that starts the pressure out low so you can get to sleep and over 20-30 minutes it goes up to full pressure but by then you are asleep.

Mine has a ramp up mode. For the first 20 minutes it is lower flow allowing one to sleep easier. Then i ramps up. Why would you want it ramped down? Works good for blowing dust bunnies and leaves.

Good luck
