Other drugs such as vincristine, azathioprine (Imuran), Danazol, cyclophosphamide, and cyclosporine are usually reserved for patients with sever ITP.

There are other possible causes for low platelet count for example if you are taking certain medication for any reason you should make sure that the specific medication you are on is not causing your low platelet. If the diagnosis is stablished then the best way of treatment is steroid. If there is no response to steroid then Gamaglobulin treatment will be added to the treatment.
