Repeated self harm and OD, why? what do u think?

Question:
some people keeps on taking over-doses, cutting & slashing. what make them do it? development, true pain or gain, what is it?

Answers:
people who do it repeatedly, and without seriously wanting to kill themselves, are generally crying out for help, frustrated and are unable to express their self hatred. it does not generally mean they are suicidal. this is more common in feamles than males, and often the result of sexual abuse that leaves them feeling dirty, ashamed and full of self hatred, hence the desire to harm themselves.

many people who overdose are not intentionall overdosing, just not good at self mediacting, or plain greedy, and often become violent and abusive when ambulance staff revive them.

Other Answers:
Typically, I would say it's a sign of true pain. People who cut themselves or do some other form of self harm use that behavior as a way to cope with the intense emotions that cause them pain. Overdosing is another gesture, often a suicidal one.

If a person is repeatedly doing it, they are still struggling with a number of emotions and issues that make them feel overwhelming emotional pain. If you know someone like that, it may be good to reach out to them and ask them what is going on. Offer your support, but don't dictate to them what should be done.

Most people have to come to their own decision to seek help. Often times, counseling is the best way for people to develop alternative methods of coping.

I doubt you'd really find many people out there who do self injury or overdosing for attention. In most cases, it is genuine. Though what lies at the root of the problem is different for each individual.

Some people want to kill themselve, want the attention, or need some real help and have no where to turn. I believe that suicidal thoughts are hereditary.

I OD often. I do it to try to die or just for the rush. I also cut but I do that to actually have control over something. I feel like it's the only thing in my life I can control, you know the only pain I can control. Hope this helps
SUICIDAL THOUGHTS ARE NOT HEREDITARY
