I love fashion and beauty and I'm interested in becoming a model; how should I start?

-Do i need to have any degree to become a model?

1. Do research on the internet first. There are a lot of good sites that give good, detailed information.

2. Buy a good book on how to become a model. Go to amazon.com, and look for books on modeling. Read the reviews, and see what others have to say on the book. Check that book out from the library, or get it from a bookstore.

The above two steps will give you a good head-start on modeling.

3. Look for modeling agencies in your city in the yellow pages. Contact them. Make an appointment with them, if you can. Talk to them. Don't be pressured to make any decision. But talk to them just to gain more information.what they do, what they need etc.

4. I have heard you do NOT have to have a portfolio to get registered with an agency. So don't be scammed into paying for a portfolio etc. I think all you need is some regular photographs of yourself to show how you look. Check the Better Business Bureau site online to see if the company is legitimate.

5. Some modeling agencies have casting calls for aspiring models to come in. Ask for these opportunities when u contact the agencies. Keep a lookout for such ads on jobboards online as well.
