use darker wine colors for lips, anything that's too pink or orange will look garish. Rosy brown hues can look good too.
dark eyeliner and mascarra work great along with shimmery bronze eyeshadow

It may be difficult for you to decide based on the beauty industry's mostly caucasian models, but you can certainly experiment. I'd say pick out your favorite facial feature and go from there. If you have expressive eyes, go for dramatic dark liner and shimmery gold or grey shadow. You could even try a brighter color like sheer lime green for fun. If you prefer people to notice your lips, consider which colors you tend to wear more often in clothing and go from there. Whatever you do, don't go lighter than your skin tone (it'll look garish) or too terribly dark (unless goth is your thing).

anything in the "warm" family, like shades of gold.
