Just lie down and relax. Do not do anything, no music or television or computer -just relax. Let your mind wander and breathe deeply. try to drown out other distractions.
Good luck.

Severe anxiety attacks really can be treated with drugs very effectively. In fact, the right meds can prevent them in the first place. But if you really don't want to use drugs, try meditation, or have a therapist make a self-hypnosis tape that you can listen to when you are feeling stressed. If you get stressed at work, then try "belly breathing" -- move your abdomen in and out and try to keep your breathing very slow so you don't hyperventilate. Also relax your muscles a few at a time. start with your feet amd move your way up your body. When you're anxious, it's hard to relazy your whole body at once, so start with various body parts and move along. Yoga is also helpful for relaxation, especially the less strenuous poses. (Some of them will get your heart rate up, which you don't want.) I also watch comedies. Once I start laughing, the panic goes away. Forcing yourself to smile also makes your brain produce endorphins that lift your mood. Just the act of smiling will do that. you don't even have to be happy. The mere act will get your brain going in a better direction. I've also got myself moving so I can get rid of that stressful energy. I'll grab a broom or a paintbrush and get to work. Or a brisk walk also works.

Take in a deep breath and reassure yourself by thinking of positive things in your life and tell yourself you are going to be okay, that you've been through this before and you know what it is. Keep telling yourself you will get through and that nothing is wrong with you. and do this until its over. Anxiety attacks last for about 20 to 40 minutes, they peak at about 15 minutes. If you can't control it naturally your doctor can prescribe xanax which is very effective.

Consult a therapist.

Anxiety disorders and panic attacks respond very well to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a form of psychotherapy. Consult a therapist or ask ur GP for a Psy referral.
