Get the book "Body for Life". They have a version for men and women. Read it and then DO IT! It'll change then way you think about your body and the way you think about food. You have to schedule time for yourself everyday - just 20 minutes and use that time to take care of your body and your health. Most of all, be patient. Don't be discouraged if you don't see immediate changes. Stick with a program and you will gain so much more in your life than just a great body. You'll learn discipline and self motivation and you'll gain self-esteem. Good Luck!

Sorry, but only YOU can help you. Excercise daily (walking doesn't count) and eat small healthy meals.

You might want to try OA (Over Eatters Anonymous). This is a free support group for people that have difficulty loosing weight. Here is a story form a member:
I am 67 and still counting. I have been in OA for nine years, and I always am a grateful compulsive overeater. People look at me oddly when I say this at meetings, especially new members, so I take the time to explain why I'm grateful.
At 200 pounds, I found OA. I had tried all other plans. You name them, I've tried them, even hypnosis (which makes me yawn). Nothing stopped me from compulsive eating.
My first meeting was at my church. I believe my Higher Power put that meeting there for me. It was a new meeting. There were three other members present — the group's founders. One girl, about 18 years old, had lost 100 pounds. I asked her to be my sponsor, even though I didn't really know what a sponsor was. I was desperate. I wanted what she had, and the members said that I needed a sponsor. That was the best thing I ever did in my life.
I was old enough to be her grandmother, but she took me on. We did it together. She got me through my 30 days, and I lost 22 pounds. Back then, our group used the gray sheet and "white-knuckle" abstinence. I kept losing — a total of 40 pounds. Then I didn't lose any more for five years. I did not quit OA. Still overweight, but not over 200 pounds, I kept telling myself that in God's time, I will lose again.
In the sixth year, I met someone in program who knew the Steps, and I asked her to be my Step sponsor. We did the Steps thoroughly. I learned to let go of the food and turn it over to my Higher Power. The following year I lost another 20 pounds.
Food is no longer a problem. I have stopped worrying about the weight. I have learned how it works, and I share it with anyone and everyone. My Higher Power is doing for me what I could not do.

run run run
What's helped me is stay away from fast food and soda. This small step can at least help from gaining more weight..
But yes exercise and eating small healthy meals will be better. Eat snacks like carrots, celery, fruits, granola, etc.
yes. Cut the amount of food you are eating by half, at least. Most people in this country consume 2 to 4 times the amount of food their bodies actually call for because we associate the discomfort of being stuffed with satisfaction. I have cut my food intake in half, and I eat anything in the world I want, including pizza cheesecake, etc, (only change I have made is only diet sodas) and I have lost 85#. Still have about 50 to go, but it works. now instead of 4 slices of pizza, I have one or 2. Instead of a large double cheeseburger meal suiper sized, I have a small 89 cent cheeseburger, and split a small order of fries with my wife. If my stomach is not growling or burning, I dont eat, and as soon as it stops, I stop eating. I havent exercised a bit. Plain and simple..ou wanna lose weight? Eat less food. If you follow this regiment faithfully, you will steadilly lose 2 - 4 # per week.
take a cla supplement and exercise and watch your diet. Use a combination of strenght/resistance training 3 to 4 days a week and a source of cardio for 6 days a week, with one day of rest. If your cardio consists of walking or running. Walk/run up a set of stairs or a hill. You will burn 30 %more fat and calories this way. Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day eliminating any feeling of hunger and you will keep your metabolism running. Follow the abs diet from mens health. you wont feel like you are on a diet and it will be more of a lifestyle change. There are no quick fixes. Just hard work and persistance.

Sure, it's easy. well OK not that easy. Because first, you are going to have to forget everything you have ever heard about "dieting", and second you are not going to be able to lose the weight in, say, two weeks or a month.
And, believe me, I am not being an idiot, or a wise-a**, I am totally serious here, I swear.
What you need to do is change the way you try to lose weight- no starving, no excercise like crazy and only eat low fat/no fat/reduced calories- you need to eat real, nutritious, quality foods- no DIET crap food, no DIET soda, and NO STARVING yourself! The single biggest thing to start is to eat a healthy breakfast, every day, no exceptions! Not a half bowl of 'special diet' cereal w/ half a cup of no fat milk. A good breakfast- a couple eggs, cooked however you like them and a couple slices of whole grain toast with a little butter on them (I know, the butter is BAD and makes you fat- it isn't true) or something like that- healthy quality food that tastes good, OK?
Second- anytime you get hungry, eat something. Seriously. You don't have to eat a big meal- but you have to eat something when you are hungry. I know this sounds crazy, but NOT eating is what makes most people gain weight. Doctors and most nutritionists, experts etc. will tell you otherwise- but it is absolutely true! If you starve yourself, at some point your body will win the battle, you'll eat a half gallon of ice cream (or too much of something), and you will feel horrible, guilty, and weak.
And it won't be your fault. Really! NO, REALLY! Your body will always win the hunger battle- no exceptions. The key to losing weight is to eat right. And that means no starving!
