Does anyone know what sort of options a person has after an unsuccessful cardioversion?
Question:
Answers:
Options are several:
1. Repeat cardioversion.
2. Make sure the medical management is optimized (all potential causes of tachycrdia such as hyperthyroidism, coffee intake, sleep apnea etc. are ruled out and the right cardio drugs such as beta or calcium channel blockers are on board)
3. If that all fails, the next step is an electrophysiology study with ablation of the circuit that is contributing to whatever type of tachycardia you have.
Your cardiologist will know what to do.
