getting a perm and highlights?


i have very long (down to the small of my back) it's very heavy given the length. I'd like to get a spiral perm to give it some body (not really tight curls) and i also wanna get highlights. has anyone done this? any advice? is this a no-no. looking for any information on past experiences or knowledge of anything i should look out for.

I wouldn't recommend a perm- very 80s. But, you can have the stylist thin it out for you. It will keep the length, but make it feel less heavy. I have the same problem with my hair, very long and thick and doesn't do much.

Highlights are always fun!!

I'm a hairdreser this is my advise; spiral perm is "in" right now, wait at least 3 weeks to a month to "highligt" your hair other wise you'll burn your it!!

Do not do both of them at the same time.

Perm 1st them wait 4 weeks and highlight if you want.also make sure you are going to a reputable salon.
