ehh i think that notion came from the embalming processes of the egyptians.. they would shove a hook through the nose and into the brain and remove it piece by piece. but i think your safe with shovin your finger up there.. just make sure you can get it out!!

No but you can do damage to the lining of your nose by picking it. If you must clean it, use a soft q-tip w/ vaseline on it. Then just swab, not shove, the inside of your nose. Also saline sprays are great for cleaning out the nose. Just follow the instructions.
