Doctor Physical?

I am having my first doctor physical as a teenage girl. What exactly do they do? Do I have to undress myself? Please be detailed.

I didn't have to undress for my first physical. The doctor checked my weight, my blood pressure, looked in my ears, at my throat. It's quick and a good idea so you stay healthy and catch things before they become big problems.

I just wanted to add that I wasn't sexually active when I went.

Depends on who you go to. Not many will make you undress. It's usually only boys that have to undress.

they test your blood, your blood pressure, i'm not sure if they do a pap or not, it depends on if you are sexually active if not i don't believe so but if so yes, i highly recommend one, then they check your weight, i think they look for scoliosis(sp) and they look in your ears, mouth, nose. really the norm.

If it makes you feel more comfortable, go to a woman doctor for your physical. That way if you have any questions or concerns, you wont feel uncomfortable talking to a man about them. At least the woman physician will understand what you're talking about.
