I see no problem with it to correct naturaul Defects. But there has to be limits on the engineering.

If curing humans of horrid conditions and disease can be the results of this type of work, more power to them!
I only hope that they engineer men a bit differently though. This world is over populated and if I were Queen Witch, men could only produce live sperm one week out of the year.and they wouldn't know what week!
