I get them at least once a day and theres so many methods i was jsut wondering what worked for other people.

Hold your breath, Drink a glass of water upside down.have a friend gently but firmly put the index fingers in both of your ears. firmly enough to plug them so that they will not be able to adjust to air pressure change. This does not hurt. while they have your ears plugged, drink a full glass of water. that's all there is to it.

Steps:
1. Swallow 1 tsp. white table sugar, dry. A study found that this stopped hiccups immediately in 19 out of 20 people. Repeat up to three more times at 2-minute intervals if necessary.
2. Gulp down a glass of water if the sugar doesn't work.
3. Eat a piece of dry bread slowly.
4. Breathe in and out of a paper bag. Do not use a plastic bag under any circumstances, and don't do this longer than 1 minute.
5. Gargle with water (see 'How to Gargle').
6. Repeat the above steps until your hiccups stop.
Tips:
Keep in mind that hiccups can be caused by eating too fast and subsequently swallowing a lot of air or drinking too much alcohol.
Warnings:
See a doctor if you have severe pain, if your hiccups last longer than a day (or 3 hours in the case of a small child), or if they started after you took a prescription medication.

Take a deep breath, as deep as you can, then holding the breath stretch your arms up over your head (which stretches out the diaphragm). Hold this as long as you can. Then, slowly release the breath (keep this in mind when deciding when to stop holding your breath, if you breath out rapidly, the hiccups will come back). This almost always works for me.
Here's something else to remember, if you cough shortly afterward, the hiccups come back, so rest easy for a while. I generally find that I feel like I'm going to hiccup again for about a minute after I do this, but the hiccup never arrives.

This has always worked for me. Take a glass of water and sip a little and swallow then without breathing out take a sip of air and swallow the air. Repeat swallowing water and then air without breathing out. Continue doing this until you cannot breath in anymore and when you finally breath out your hiccups will be gone.Is it Ok for your health to donate half a liter of blood?

I've tried sugar, drinking water, holding my breath, and lots of other things. When I get the hiccoughs I tend to get them for hours or a couple of days. I've found breathing into a small paper bag (like if you're hyperventilating) normally will get rid of them.
