am I Hypoglycemic? Or..losin. my mind?

I've had this strange "condition" for about 5 years now. I was a pretty moderate drinker/partier etc. for several years throughout highschool and into my first year of college, but never really got hangovers at all. One morning after a long night of drinking I woke up panacking, dizzy, short of breath, and my heart was beating extremely fast. I almost felt like I was outside my body. The first time I had ever been to the hospital for a "hangover". I figured maybe it was a one time deal and I had just had way too much to drink; but it kept happening. So I slowed down on the drinking a lot, and I noticed that it really didnt matter how much alcohol I drank, I would still wake up feeling terrible. After cutting alcohol out all together, I continued feeling worse and worse all the time. Always tired, confused, short of breath, dizzy, heart issues. After I eat, it helps a little, but I'm still lethargic. Has anyone had similar exp? What is the best step or doc to see to get help? Thanks, El

Answers:
The best thing you can do is see a doctor about this problem you are continuing to have. The shortness of breath issue leads me to believe that this might not be a diabetes / hypoglycemic issue at all.

Get to a doctor ASAP and get checked out. A complete physical exam and a complete lab work up (blood work) should find the cause.

Good luck and best wishes.

How can you be absolutely certain you never had osteomyelitis?

i don't think its hypoglycemic, hypoglycemic just means u need to eat every 3 or so hours otherwise u get low blood sugar levels and u will prolly feel a little faint and probably shake, but being tired confused short of breath heart issues has nothing to do with. i'd go see a doc have some test done

does any one want a nurse to lookafter their elders in uk?

Drinking can cause low blood sugar, but the symptoms do sound like panic attacks, and you said they happen even when you don't drink.
