Has Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan ever covered Dental Implants for medical reasons.?

Question: I have Ectodermal dysplasis and the bone in my mouth is deterioating. I have no option of Dentures because there is not enough bone. BCBS is giving me no options. Has this ever been covered before and what did you do? This is going to cost me over $50,000 and I need help.

Answers:
NO dental insurance company has ever covered implants as they are considered to be cosmetic. No medical insurance has covered them either. Implants must be paid for completely out of pocket.
